Wade Miley, who leads the UL in complete games with 2, propelled his team to victory over the Portland Jaguars. The final score was 5-1, Anaheim. The win gives Anaheim a season record of 51-50.

Chris Taylor had a big solo home run for the Diamonds in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Anaheim leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a changeup from Charlie Morton, who finished 5th in the UL in wins with 16 in 2014, and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Diamonds on top, 3-1.

"Main thing is I want the team to win," Miley told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
