Anaheim third baseman Willi Castro was instrumental in helping the Diamonds triumph, 6-4, over the Washington Hitmen. Castro hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Tyler Mahle picked up the win, lifting his record to 6-6 on the season. He struck out 6 and walked 2 in 5.1 innings, while yielding 4 runs. By defeating Washington, the third-place Diamonds improved to 50-52.

With Anaheim leading 4-3 in the top of the fourth, Castro hit a curveball from Mitch Keller for a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Diamonds ahead, 6-3.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Castro told the Anaheim Herald.
