Explorers Win at Washington, 5-2
|
Chicago turned a good performance from starting pitcher Aaron Civale into a 5-2 triumph over the Washington Hitmen at RFK Stadium. The third-place Explorers now sit at 50-54.
Chicago used the hitting of Jesus Sanchez to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Explorers on top, 4-0. For the game, Sanchez had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Civale.
