Minnesota Dismisses St Louis, 8-4
|
The Minnesota Millers topped the St Louis Sluggers, 8-4, in Union League action at Busch Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Minnesota pitcher and The United States, native Jared Jones. The winner was Jones. He threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Cristopher Sanchez. The first-place Millers, at 59-44, lead the Union League Central Division by 3 games.
Michael Busch had a big 2-run triple for the Millers in the top of the sixth inning. With Minnesota leading 3-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from 33-year old right-handed pitcher Yimi Garcia and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Millers ahead, 5-1.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Busch.
