Baltimore Beaten, 7-3, by Cincinnati
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Baltimore Wildcats and Cincinnati Stars get after it.
Cincinnati center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong contributed significantly to his team's 7-3 win over the Baltimore Wildcats. Crow-Armstrong, who is tied for 3rd in the UL in stolen bases with 51, went 1 for 4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Stars. Today's win puts Cincinnati at 51-53, while Baltimore falls to 44-60.
Crow-Armstrong had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a full count fastball from Joe Kelly, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Stars a 7-3 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Crow-Armstrong.
Cincinnati manager Pat Padula was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
