Spirit Defeat Ironmen, 3-2
|
In a close game at PNC Park, the Los Angeles Spirit edged the Pittsburgh Ironmen, 3-2, in 11 innings. Los Angeles center fielder Dasan Brown stood apart with his performance. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Colten Brewer earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. His record is now 1-0. Tanner Andrews earned his 3rd save in 3 chances.
Brown had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a 1-1 slider from Kevin Kelly, he banged a solo home run to left-center, giving the Spirit a 3-2 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Brown.
Brown called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
After today's action, Los Angeles sits at 37-67; Pittsburgh slips to 54-50.
