Kepler Slugs Jaguars to 6-1 Win
|
Good production from right fielder Max Kepler helped the Portland Jaguars topple the Carolina Riptides, 6-1. Kepler went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for the Jaguars. Lance Lynn, the winning pitcher, improved to 6-9. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 6 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 6. After today's action, Portland sits at 51-54, while Carolina falls to 55-50.
Early in the game, Kepler had a grand slam home run for Portland. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Jaguars on top, 4-0.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Kepler. "And not try to do too much."
