Minutemen Beaten By Millers, 2-0
|
Target Field featured a tense pitchers' duel.
Xander Bogaerts did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Boston Minutemen from being beaten, 2-0, to the Minnesota Millers at Target Field. Bogaerts was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. Andres Munoz notched his 5th save in 6 chances.
Zach Neto had a big run-scoring double for the Millers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Minnesota leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a sinker from Kyle Bradish, who is tied for 10th in the FL in innings pitched with 125.1, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 20th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Millers ahead, 2-0.
Neto said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
Minnesota raised its record to 55-50 with the win.
