Sharks Absorb 9-5 Home Loss
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Washington Hitmen and New York Sharks.
The Washington Hitmen cut down the New York Sharks by the score of 9-5, with the largest share of the credit going to shortstop Marcus Semien. Semien was 2 for 2 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Hitmen. Washington reliever Phil Maton picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Caleb Thielbar was saddled with the loss.
In the top of the seventh, the Hitmen grabbed the lead when Semien hit his 23rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Caleb Thielbar made it 7-5, Washington.
"We took home the win," said Semien. "What's not to like?"
The Hitmen bumped their record to 61-47 with this win.
