The Cincinnati Stars downed the Minnesota Millers, 4-1, at Target Field. Stellar pitching by Josiah Gray had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 6th in the UL in innings pitched with 127.0, handcuffed his opponent all game. In 6.2 innings, Gray surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Cincinnati is now 52-55. Minnesota is 56-51.

Cincinnati used a well-timed hit by Mark Vientos to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Stars ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Vientos told a Cincinnati Citizen reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
