Dragons Come Up Short at Carolina, 4-3
|
A 3-RBI performance from Brett Baty helped the Carolina Riptides beat the San Francisco Dragons, 4-3. Clayton Kershaw notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 1-3. Carolina improves to 60-47 with the win. They lead their division by 2½ games.
Baty had a timely hit for Carolina in the bottom of the sixth. With Carolina trailing 3-1, he turned a first pitch slider into a 3-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Carolina.
"We were the better team," crowed Baty.
