Busch Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Oakland Roses and St Louis Sluggers.

St Louis turned a fine outing from starter Marcus Stroman into a victory over the Oakland Roses at Busch Stadium. The final score was 3-2. Stroman yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-0. Robert Garcia, credited with the save, is now 22 for 27 in save opportunities.

The Sluggers got a big at-bat from right fielder Austin Hays. For the game, Hays went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave St Louis a 3-1 lead.

"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Oakland manager Herb Pilgrim.
