Minutemen Win, 5-2, at Chicago
|
The Boston Minutemen defeated the Chicago Explorers, 5-2, at Baron's Ballyard. Leading the charge for Boston was third baseman Kris Bryant. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. With the win, Boston pushed its record to 55-52.
Boston took a 5-2 lead on D.J. LeMahieu's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which LeMahieu hit in the top of the eighth, left Chicago pitcher Tommy Nance visibly frustrated.
"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Boston manager Tony Byrne.
