In a low-scoring contest between the Boston Minutemen and the Chicago Explorers, Hunter Brown was the X factor. The Boston right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. The winning pitcher was Brown, now 10-9. He tossed 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. Drew Rasmussen notched his 19th save in 26 chances.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Minutemen had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when left fielder Alex Call hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Aaron Civale and made the score 2-1, Minutemen. Call went 2-2 with 2 singles and a walk.

"I was a little disappointed," said Chicago manager Rock Carpenter. "We could've and should've scored more runs."

Boston now has a record of 55-53 with the win.
