Firebirds Win at Seattle, 3-2
|
Phoenix left-hander Drew Rom pitched his team to victory over the Seattle Sting at Boeing Field. The final score was 3-2. Rom picked up the win for Phoenix, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 7-4. The Firebirds improved their record to 64-44 with the win over Seattle.
Phoenix used the timely hitting of Rob Refsnyder to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Firebirds on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Seattle manager Jesus Cardiel. "The effort was great."
