Minutemen Improve to 56-52 with 9-5 Win
|
The Boston Minutemen powered past the Montreal PoorBoys, 9-5, at Big Donut Stadium. Jonah Heim provided some of the pop. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Joe Ryan, who is tied for 7th in the FL with a 1.09 WHIP, was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. With the victory, the Minutemen upped their record to 56-52.
Boston used the hitting of Brandon Lowe to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Minutemen on top, 2-0. For the game, Lowe had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Heim.
