The Phoenix Firebirds defeated the Denver Bears, 14-4, at Coors Field. Sean Murphy was a standout performer for Phoenix. His 2 hits included 1 single and 1 double -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 2 he knocked in. Justin Slaten snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit over 1.1 innings. He's now 5-2 on the season. Liam Hendriks, credited with the save, is now 3 for 3 in save opportunities.
Phoenix took control in the top of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, Ke'byran Hayes hit a 2-run single to make it 4-2, Firebirds.
Hayes said: "We didn't really let up all day. We kind of kept going and going."
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Firebirds.
