A 4-RBI performance from the 30-year old right fielder Brent Rooker helped the Texas Vipers beat the Montreal PoorBoys, 9-3. Reese Olson earned the win for Texas. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 12-5. Texas is now 47-63. Montreal is 49-61.

With Texas leading 5-2 in the top of the seventh, Rooker hit a curveball from Dylan Dodd for a 3-run home run. It was his 22nd home run of the season and put the Vipers ahead, 8-2.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Texas manager Pete Seto.
