Max Scherzer pitched a gem to lead Tampa Bay to victory over the Boston Minutemen, 1-0. The first-place Bandits, at 68-42, lead the Federal League Eastern Division by 13 games.

Tampa Bay needed the clutch hitting of Austin Riley to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bandits on top, 1-0. For the game, Riley had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"I still think this team can play even better," Riley told the Tampa Bay Chronicle.
