Riding the 3-hit performance of the 28-year old first baseman Jake Burger, the Denver Bears defeated the Boston Minutemen, 6-2. Frankie Montas got the win, improving to 9-7. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. The win puts Denver at 61-51 this season.

The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Burger hit a solo home run off Ryne Nelson. It propelled the Bears into the lead, 3-2.

"It feels good to get this one," Burger told the Denver Bulletin.
