Diamonds 4-1 Winners Over Carolina
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Carolina Riptides and Anaheim Diamonds get after it.
Anaheim pitcher Mike Clevinger did his part in helping his team beat the Carolina Riptides, 4-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Bryan Abreu was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 13 save opportunities.
The Diamonds got a big at-bat from catcher Ali Sanchez. For the game, Sanchez was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Anaheim a 4-0 lead.
Said losing manager Rob Hansen: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
Anaheim is now 45-66. Carolina is 57-54.
