Explorers Squeeze By Pittsburgh, 5-4
|
The Chicago Explorers beat the Pittsburgh Ironmen, 5-4, at Baron's Ballyard. Sean Bouchard, in particular, was impressive. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Chicago reliever Jeremiah Estrada was the winner. His record is now 3-4. The losing pitcher was David Robertson. The slumping Ironmen have dropped 8 in a row.
The decisive blow was delivered by Jung-hoo Lee in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off two-time All-Star David Robertson to win the game for Chicago. The home crowd went nuts.
"We just can't get over the hump," said losing manager Ryan Morneau.
