Washington Beaten, 4-3, by Houston
|
The Houston Titans picked up a win at New League Park, knocking off the Washington Hitmen, 4-3. On the mound for Houston was left-hander Brady Basso. He played a key role in the triumph. Reliever Orion Kerkering picked up the win. His record improves to 12-3. Matt Foster took the loss. Houston goes to 69-45. The win puts them 6½ games up in their division.
Nathan Lukes was the walk-off hero for Houston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Titans right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
After the game, Houston manager Stephen Strzepek applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
