In a low-scoring contest, Toronto pitcher Anthony Veneziano was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 1-0 win. Veneziano got the win, improving to 5-4. He gave up 2 hits and walked 5 over 7 innings. He allowed no runs. Bronx is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.

The Hogs got a big at-bat from first baseman Ryan Mountcastle. For the game, Mountcastle went 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 13th home run of the season gave Toronto a 1-0 lead.

"The key for me has just been attacking the zone and hitting my spots. When I'm throwing strikes and not falling behind in counts, those are the days when I pitch really good," said Veneziano.
