Dragons Top Riptides in Extras, 2-1
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the San Francisco Dragons and the Carolina Riptides. San Francisco won it, 2-1. San Francisco starter Dustin May was in command. Brusdar Graterol, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. The first-place Dragons, at 70-44, now lead their division by 2½ games.
The Dragons got a clutch hit from third baseman Jose Ramirez. In the bottom of the 13th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Dragons.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Joe Turnage.
