Turner Fuels 6-4 Oakland Triumph
|
The Oakland Roses welcomed the Bronx Bombers to an night game at Fan's Ballyard.
Oakland third baseman Justin Turner contributed significantly to his team's 6-4 win over the Bronx Bombers. Turner, who finished 3rd in the FL in on-base percentage with .417 in 2018, went 4 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Roses. Earning the save was John Brebbia. He's now cashed in 6 of 7 save opportunities.
Turner had a game-changing double in the bottom of the seventh. On a full count fastball from Raul Alcantara, he banged a bases-clearing double to right, giving the Roses a 5-3 lead. It was the 20th double of the year for Turner.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Turner told the Oakland Times.
Oakland is last in the Union League Western Division with a record of 50-65.
