Chicago Defeated By Titans, 12-2
|
The Houston Titans met little resistance from the Chicago Explorers, beating them, 12-2, at Baron's Ballyard. Brandon Nimmo led the way. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for Houston. After today's action, Houston sits at 70-45; Chicago slips to 57-58.
Jordan Westburg had a big 2-run double for the Titans in the top of the third inning. With Houston trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Tyler Anderson, who is tied for 9th in the UL in wins with 9, and swatted a double to left. It was his 22nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Titans ahead, 2-1.
"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Chicago manager Rock Carpenter.
