6-4 Loss Extends Washington Skid
|
The Denver Bears dealt the Washington Hitmen a 6-4 loss at RFK Stadium. Enrique Hernandez was the star on offense. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Denver reliever Austin Voth picked up the win, raising his record to 2-4. Keegan Akin was tagged with the loss. Ryan Helsley was credited with the save, his 25th in 28 tries.
Denver won the game in part because of Jonathan India. The second baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Bears ahead, 5-3. For the game, India had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"We're playing like we're capable of," said Denver manager Aaron Hill.
The Bears have now won 4 straight.
