Texas pitcher Reese Olson did his part in helping his team defeat the Los Angeles Spirit, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. The winner was Evan Phillips in relief. His record improves to 4-3. Tom Cosgrove took the loss. Texas has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.

Brent Rooker took Los Angeles hurler Tom Cosgrove deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Vipers on top, 3-1. In all, Rooker had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
