Jones Hits Two Dingers, Wildcats Win, 8-7
|
The Baltimore Wildcats stopped the San Francisco Dragons, 8-7, at Toyota Field. The Wildcats got a big game from Nolan Jones, who belted 2 home runs, while scoring 4 and driving in 3. Devin Williams earned the save, his 26th in 30 tries. The triumph puts Baltimore at 62-54 for the season.
An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the fifth. That's when Wildcats designated hitter Peyton Burdick hit a slider from Blake Snell for a 2-run single. Just like that, Baltimore was up, 6-5.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Burdick.
