Hitmen Absorb 8-4 Home Loss
|
Another game, another loss for the struggling Washington Hitmen.
Getting a good performance from left fielder Mark Canha, the Denver Bears defeated the Washington Hitmen, 8-4. Canha went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Bears. Denver starter Frankie Montas was credited with the win after throwing 96 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 10-7. Kyle Finnegan notched his 2nd save in 4 chances.
Early in the game, Canha had a 2-run home run for Denver. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Bears on top, 2-0.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Washington manager John Anderson.
The third-place Hitmen have lost 8 straight games.
