Hitmen Handle San Francisco, Snag 4-0 Win

The Washington Hitmen rode a solid performance from 23-year-old starting pitcher Paul Skenes to a win, beating the San Francisco Dragons, 4-0, at RFK Stadium. The winning pitcher was Skenes, now 1-1. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 11. The loss makes San Francisco 71-46.
The Hitmen got a big at-bat from center fielder Jordan Beck. For the game, Beck was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Washington a 2-0 lead.
"We had a good game plan," Skenes said, "and we were able to execute it."
