Hernandez Slugs Roses to 11-9 Win
The Oakland Roses and Portland Jaguars lit up the scoreboard.

The Oakland Roses defeated the Portland Jaguars, 11-9. Left Fielder Teoscar Hernandez deserved a large share of the credit. Hernandez slugged 3 home runs, while scoring 4 times and driving in 5 for the Roses. Picking up the save was Fernando Cruz. He's now 29 for 33 in save chances.

With Oakland trailing 4-3 in the top of the fifth, Hernandez hit a fastball from Kyle Leahy for a 3-run home run. It was his 23rd home run of the season and put the Roses ahead, 6-4.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Hernandez said.

The Roses improved their record to 61-57 with the win over Portland.
