Dragons Topple Firebirds, 8-4, as Cruz Shines
|
The San Francisco Dragons topped the Phoenix Firebirds, 8-4, with shortstop Oneil Cruz playing a big role. Cruz went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Dragons in the win. Reliever Brusdar Graterol picked up the win. His record improves to 3-3. Aaron Bummer, who is tied for 7th in the FL in holds with 14, took the loss. The win gives San Francisco a season record of 62-55.
Cruz had an important at-bat with a runner on 3rd in the top of the sixth, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Dragons went on to win.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Cruz.
