Stars Lose as Explorers Stage Late Rally
The Cincinnati Stars got a superb performance from pitcher Max Scherzer, but the Chicago Explorers still won the game, 7-5. Scherzer threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Chicago reliever Adbert Alzolay snagged the win, upping his record to 2-2. Joshua Walker shouldered the loss. Chicago is third in the Union League Central Division with a record of 59-63.

Sam Huff delivered a big hit for Chicago. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Explorers ahead, 7-5. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Huff, "and then get after it again."
