|
The Carolina Riptides downed the Bronx Bombers, 13-6. The hitting star was right fielder Juan Soto. Soto belted 2 home runs. He scored 5 runs and drove in 5 for the Riptides. Jordan Montgomery was the winner. He's now 11-3. The loser was fan favorite Bowden Francis. With the win, the Riptides sit at 68-51.
In the top of the third inning, the Riptides grabbed the lead when Kyle Schwarber rapped a two-out single. Carolina was trailing 2-1, when Schwarber hit a 2-run single off Bowden Francis to put his team in front, 3-2.
"I like our moxie," said Riptides manager Rob Hansen.
