Washington Dealt 3-2 Defeat
The Cincinnati Stars eked out a 3-2 win versus the Washington Hitmen at Great American Ball Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Aaron Ashby. He was terrific. Ashby, the winner, moves to 6-3. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks. Giovanny Gallegos, credited with the save, is now 4 for 6 in save opportunities.

Luis Guillorme had a big solo home run for the Stars in the bottom of the second inning. With Cincinnati leading 2-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a slider from Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who is tied for 4th in the FL in innings pitched with 151.0, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Stars on top, 3-0.

"It was a hard game, a hard night," said Washington skipper John Anderson.

Today's win puts Cincinnati at 56-65, while Washington falls to 56-65.
