Cincinnati second baseman Andres Gimenez was instrumental in helping the Stars triumph, 3-2, over the Texas Vipers. Gimenez went 2-4 with a triple and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Reliever J.T. Brubaker picked up the win. His record improves to 2-13. Reese Olson, who is tied for 5th in the UL in wins with 11, took the loss. Colin Holderman earned his 9th save in 12 chances.

With Cincinnati leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Gimenez hit a slider from Reese Olson for a run-scoring double. It was his 15th double of the season and put the Stars ahead, 3-1.

Gimenez called the win a test of his team's "mettle."

The victory puts Cincinnati at 42-79.
