Minutemen Deal Demons 9-6 Defeat
|
The Boston Minutemen had to overcome a big game from Detroit left fielder Alec Burleson to leave Detroit Park with a victory. And they did, winning, 9-6. Burleson slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Drew Rasmussen was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 23 of 30 save opportunities. Boston is now 61-62, while Detroit is 66-57.
Boston used the hitting of Trevor Larnach to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Minutemen on top, 6-4. For the game, Larnach had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Tony Byrne said.
