Jaguars Pick Up 3-2 Road Win Over Bronx
|
Michael Wacha, who is tied for 6th in the UL in quality starts with 14, pitched well, but the Bronx Bombers still fell short, losing, 3-2, to the Portland Jaguars at Magnum Stadium. Joe Jimenez recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 5 for 8. Portland now has a record of 65-58 with the win.
Portland needed the clutch hitting of Dominic Canzone to seal the deal. The right fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Jaguars on top, 3-2. For the game, Canzone had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Bronx manager Jeremiah Coggins, "let me know."
