Anaheim beat Chicago in a rain-soaked ballgame.

The Anaheim Diamonds defeated the Chicago Explorers, 7-3. Doing his part was shortstop Brandon Crawford, who was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Tyler Mahle, who finished 4th in the UL in innings pitched with 205.2 in 2021, was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, with 4 walks and 2 strikeouts.

George Springer, who finished 5th in the UL in home runs with 31 in 2022, helped out the Anaheim cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the center fielder drove in one run.

"We took home the win," said Crawford. "What's not to like?"

The 4th-place Diamonds bumped their record to 61-62.
