Down Goes Pittsburgh, 6-3, to Seattle
|
The Seattle Sting topped the Pittsburgh Ironmen, 6-3, in Union League action at Boeing Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Seattle pitcher Corbin Burnes. Josh Hader got the save, his 27th in 28 chances. Seattle goes to 73-51. The win puts them 9½ games up in their division.
Sam Hilliard had a big 3-run home run for the Sting in the bottom of the first inning. With Seattle leading 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a sinker from Miles Mikolas, who finished 3rd in the UL in wins with 16 in 2018, and punished it. The result was his 11th home run of the season, which put the Sting on top, 5-1.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Hilliard.
