Riptides Procure 5-2 Victory
|
The Carolina Riptides knocked off the Phoenix Firebirds, 5-2, at Chase Field. Eric Haase was a big reason Carolina won. The catcher went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Matt Brash earned his 1st save in 2 tries. The Carolina winning streak has reached 3 games.
With Carolina trailing 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Haase hit a sinker from Reid Detmers for a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Riptides ahead, 3-2.
"It never gets old," said Haase. "Winning, that is."
