Sting Earn 7-3 Home Win
|
The 7-3 Seattle win over Oakland was due in large part to Pete Alonso. The Sting first baseman was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Zac Gallen got the win, improving to 5-2. He worked 5 innings, giving up 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. This win makes it 5 in a row for Seattle.
In the bottom of the third, Seattle second baseman Ketel Marte had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and no one out, Marte stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 3-0, Seattle. For the game, he went 1-3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Alonso said after the game.
