Seager hits 27th home run, Leads Wildcats to Win
|
The Baltimore Wildcats defeated the Minnesota Millers, 7-1. Shortstop Corey Seager deserved a large share of the credit. Seager was 2-2 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Wildcats. Baltimore pitcher Casey Mize earned the win, hiking his record to 9-10. Clay Holmes suffered the loss. With this game in the books, Baltimore is 55-71, Minnesota 70-56.
With Baltimore trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Seager hit a sinker from Clay Holmes for a bases-clearing double. It was his 23rd double of the season and put the Wildcats ahead, 3-1.
Said losing manager Pierre Duschesnau: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
