8-3 Loss Extends Oakland Losing Streak
|
The Seattle Sting extended their winning streak.
Seattle right-hander Corbin Burnes pitched his team to victory over the Oakland Roses at Boeing Field. The final score was 8-3. The losing skid has reached 6 games for Oakland.
Corbin Carroll had a big 2-run double for the Sting in the bottom of the seventh inning. With Seattle leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 28-year old left-handed pitcher Tyler Holton and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 17th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sting ahead, 4-1.
"I believe in our guys," said Seattle skipper Jesus Cardiel. "I like the energy they're playing with."
