PoorBoys Deal Hitmen 7-5 Loss
|
The Montreal PoorBoys stopped the Washington Hitmen, 7-5, in 10 innings at RFK Stadium. The PoorBoys got a big game from Isaac Paredes, who went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Montreal reliever Gregory Soto picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Ian Hamilton took the loss. Montreal is now 61-66, Washington 58-69.
Montreal used the timely hitting of Alec Bohm to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the PoorBoys on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Paredes, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
