Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the New York Sharks got the win.

The New York Sharks defeated the Cincinnati Stars, 4-3, at Shark Stadium. Leading the charge for New York was pinch hitter Jake McCarthy. He went 1-1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Blake Treinen converted his 28th save in 33 tries.

McCarthy had a timely hit for New York in the bottom of the seventh. With New York trailing 3-1, he turned a first pitch fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season, making it 4-3, New York.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said McCarthy. "And not try to do too much."

The defeat makes Cincinnati 59-68.
