Millers Prevail, 5-3, Over Cincinnati
|
Minnesota pitcher Jared Jones did his part in helping his team beat the Cincinnati Stars, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Ryan Walker was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 3 save opportunities. The victory gives Minnesota a record of 72-57.
The Millers got a big at-bat from first baseman Michael Busch. For the game, Busch went 1-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 16th home run of the season gave Minnesota a 3-1 lead.
"We did enough to win," said Jones.
