Sting Shut Out Explorers, 5-0
|
The Seattle Sting racked up a win at Baron's Ballyard, bumping off the Chicago Explorers, 5-0. Jose Soriano, who started for Seattle, pitched effectively for his team. Soriano got the win, improving to 11-5. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. The setback makes Chicago 54-76.
Corbin Carroll had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the second for Seattle. With the bases loaded and the Sting leading 1-0, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.
"We have a lot of confidence in Jose," said Seattle manager Jesus Cardiel.
