Firebirds Down Titans, 5-2
|
Phoenix pitcher Brant Hurter did his part in helping his team defeat the Houston Titans, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. With the win, Phoenix raised its record to 76-54.
Austin Slater drove in one run for Phoenix. The 32-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Aaron Nola. It was his 23rd RBI of the season.
Hurter attributed the win to his team's "determination."
