Carolina Loses, 9-7, Despite Schwarber Performance
The Seattle Sting withstood a fine game by Carolina designated hitter Kyle Schwarber at Boeing Field, to upend the Riptides, 9-7. Schwarber went 3 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Aroldis Chapman got the save, his 1st in 3 chances. Seattle goes to 93-39. The win puts them 23 games up in their division.

Willy Adames had a big bases-clearing double for the Sting in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Seattle trailing 6-5 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 32-year old right-handed pitcher Domingo German and swatted a double to left. It was his 33rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sting ahead, 8-6.

Adames told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
