The Phoenix Firebirds defeated the Houston Titans, 4-2, in Federal League action at Chase Field. Phoenix pitcher Drew Rom had a standout performance. Phoenix has run its win streak to 4 in a row.

Zack Gelof had a big solo home run for the Firebirds in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Phoenix leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a slider from Luis Castillo, who is tied for 4th in the UL in quality starts with 14, and punished it. The result was his 17th home run of the season, which put the Firebirds on top, 2-0.
