Roses Rally Late to Nip Stars
The Cincinnati Stars got a sterling performance from second baseman Andres Gimenez, but the Oakland Roses still prevailed, 5-4. Gimenez was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Oakland pitcher Jakob Junis got the win, upping his record to 4-4. Giovanny Gallegos got the loss. Oakland is now 70-61, Cincinnati 60-71.

Mitch Garver came through with a big-time hit for Oakland. The catcher smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Oakland manager Herb Pilgrim.
